More Civil Celebrants of Marriages appointed

"Another batch of 242 civil celebrants of marriages ("civil celebrants") is appointed today (June 23)," an Immigration Department spokesman said. 

Since the appointment of the first batch of civil celebrants on April 21, 2006, a total of 628 civil celebrants has been appointed.  The updated list of civil celebrants can be found at the Immigration Department website at http://www.immd.gov.hk.  The list is also available at the Information and Liaison Section of the Immigration Department at 2nd Floor, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai (Tel. No. 2824 6111) and at various marriage registries.

The spokesman added that with more civil celebrants appointed, people have more choices and greater convenience in making arrangements for their weddings.
