This Office provides the following services:

1.

accepting applications for and issuing of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) travel documents, including HKSAR passports, Documents of Identity for Visa Purposes, HKSAR Re-entry Permits and Seaman's Identity Books; and

2. accepting and processing the following types of applications for extension of stay from:
  1. Persons on employment status (e.g. foreign domestic helpers applying for contract renewal with the same employers) or dependant status (other than persons admitted under "Quality Migrant Admission Scheme", "Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals", "Supplementary Labour Scheme" and "Capital Investment Entrant Scheme" and Mainland students graduated from University Grants Committee (UGC) - funded institutions who are admitted for employment in Hong Kong and their dependants);


  2. Persons on student status (other than persons from the Mainland);


  3. Holders of One-way Permit from the Mainland; and


  4. Visitors (other than persons from the Mainland).

(Remarks: Applications for change of status and other applications for extension of stay should be submitted to relevant sections at the headquarters of Immigration Department.)

4. All Immigration Branch Offices are using a quota system. Applicants are required to get quota tags at the respective office before their applications be processed. Alternatively, applicant can use the 24-Hour Appointment Booking System for advance booking up to two weeks.
