Application for Certificate of Entitlement from applicants residing Overseas or in the region of Taiwan or Macau
Application for Certificate of Entitlement from overseas residents who are eligible for the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region should be made to the Director of Immigration outside Hong Kong. Applicants must complete the application form ID881. Those who are under 18 years of age, the applications must be signed by the parent or legal guardian.
Applicants must submit the applications through the Chinese Diplomatic and Consular Missions or by post to the Director of Immigration (Address: Certificate of Entitlement Section, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong) direct. For applicants residing in the region of Taiwan or Macau, applications should be submitted direct by post.
Mainland residents who are eligible for the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administration Region should submit their Application for Certificate of Entitlement according to the application procedures announced in the Director of Immigration's notice published in the gazette on 17 July 1999. Applications submitted in other forms will not be accepted.
The application form may be completed in English or Chinese, but must be in black or blue ink.
Applicants should enclose the application forms photostat copies of the required documents specified at Paragraph (II) of the Guidance Notes (ID881A).
Please do not send in original documents. All photostat copies submitted will not be returned.
