The Immigration Department formed a uniformed group known as the “Immigration Department Youth Leaders” in December 2013 to provide disciplinary and leadership training for Hong Kong students of Secondary 3 to 6. The training programme covers national education, the work of the Immigration Department, foot drill, physical fitness training, outdoor training and community services. It aims to heighten members’ sense of national identity, arouse their patriotism, and develop their law-abiding awareness and self-discipline through group activities. It also aims to nurture good character, develop leadership skills and positive thinking, and arouse enthusiasm for serving the community among members. In 2021, the group was officially renamed the “Immigration Department Youth Leaders Corps” with its membership expanded to include Secondary 1 to 2 students in order to benefit more young people.
I, ______________________ (name of member), solemnly and sincerely swear that, being a member of the Immigration Department Youth Leaders Corps, I will abide by the law, observe strict discipline and exercise self-discipline with a sense of cohesion, and I am determined to become a citizen with good conduct, a strong sense of patriotism and enthusiasm for serving the community.
