Courteous Immigration staff commended (with photo)

Senior Immigration Assistant Mr Choi Fung-hau has been elected Hong Kong's most courteous Immigration control officer.

The Director of Immigration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, and the Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Ms Becky Ip, today (April 15) presented awards and souvenirs to Mr Choi at Immigration Headquarters.

Mr Chan said that the Most Courteous Immigration Control Officers Election has been held annually since 1996 to remind front-line officers to conduct immigration control as well as provide quality services to the public with sincerity and courtesy.

"The Immigration Department is committed to providing quality immigration clearance services for members of the public and visitors and also working for the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong," Mr Chan said. He encouraged the front-line officers to continue to make concerted efforts to provide efficient and courteous services to travellers. He also thanked the officers for their devotion in providing such efficient and courteous services, thus leaving visitors with a good impression of Hong Kong and contributing to promote the Hong Kong tourism industry.

Mr Chan thanked the Hong Kong Tourism Board for its support in making the Most Courteous Immigration Control Officers Election a success. The winner has been appointed as a Hong Kong Courtesy Ambassador by the Board.
