Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal Control Point to resume operation on January 28

26 January 2016

Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal will provide cross-boundary passenger ferry services between Hong Kong and Macau or the Mainland from January 28, 2016. To tie in with this arrangement, the Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal Control Point will resume operation on the same day, with opening hours from 7am to 10pm.

There will be four conventional immigration counters and three e-Channels at both the arrival and departure halls in the Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal Control Point. An automated self-enrolment kiosk will also be available to allow eligible Hong Kong residents to enrol for the Automated Passenger Clearance System (e-Channel) in Macau. Reciprocally, eligible Macau residents will also be able to enrol for the e-Channel service in Hong Kong in the enrolment office of the control point.

In addition, an enhanced new arrangement for processing loss of passport/travel document/Macau identity document used to enter Hong Kong for Macau residents has been implemented. If a Macau resident loses his or her passport/travel document/Macau identity document used to enter Hong Kong and has no other document for departure, he or she will be able to proceed to Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal to report the loss and present for departure clearance in one go, in addition to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan or the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. If the Macau resident has already enrolled for the automated clearance service, the Hong Kong Immigration Department can verify their identity through the checking system with the Macau resident's written consent. Further verification of identity with the Macau authority would not be required.
