In response to the incident of five persons suspected of using fake "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile applications in an attempt to enter Immigration Tower yesterday, the Immigration Department (ImmD) stated today (November 2) that the persons concerned were denied entry on scene and the incident was reported to the Police immediately. Two immigration officers were arrested on suspicion of using false instruments and they have been interdicted from duty and are currently under police investigation.
The ImmD stressed that it attached great importance to staff conduct. If any officer is found to be involved in any unlawful acts or misconduct, the ImmD will not tolerate it, and handle the matter seriously in accordance with the law and established procedures.
