Collaborative Inspection Automated Channel

Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card and Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents

“Collaborative Inspection" Automated Channels allow eligible Hong Kong residents and visitors to Hong Kong (i.e. the five categories of persons shown in the tabs above) to queue up once for document inspection and identity verification when using the automated channel to pass through the inspection areas of both the Mainland and Hong Kong and complete the immigration clearance procedures of both sides. “Collaborative Inspection" Automated Channels will operate with both document presentation (“Document Reading” Clearance) and document-free (“Face Scan” Clearance) clearance modes.

The “Document Reading” Clearance is similar to the use of existing Hong Kong e-Channels, while the “Face Scan” Clearance is a new service introduced under the “Collaborative Inspection" Automated Channels. After completing the relevant enrolment, eligible persons (i.e. the five categories of persons shown in the tabs above) are not required to present physical documents during immigration clearance. The system will verify their identity by capturing a live face image, providing passengers with a faster and more convenient automated immigration clearance service and further enhancing the clearance experience.

If you do not belong to the above five categories of persons, you may still use the Collaborative Inspection Traditional Manual Counters for immigration clearance procedures.
