Call the 24-hour Assistance Hotline by the ImmD Mobile Application

Hong Kong residents in distress outside Hong Kong, apart from calling (852) 1868 to contact the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit, can follow the steps below to call the 1868 hotline via the Hong Kong Immigration Department Mobile Application (ImmD Mobile App) using network data:

  1. ImmD Mobile App can be downloaded or updated to the latest version free of charge from the Apple App Store, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery or the Homepage of the Immigration Department (You may download/update the ImmD Mobile App here);
  2. Open the ImmD Mobile App and tap “Contact the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit” under “Popular Services” on the main page;
  3. Tap the “1868 Network Data Call” icon;
  4. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions, then tap the “Call” button.

Remarks:

  1. When calling the 1868 hotline or receiving calls from the AHU using network data, users may be charged by their mobile network service providers for the use of network data. The charges of roaming data may be very high. Users are advised to make enquiries in advance with their mobile network service providers for charge details.
  2. Before calling the 1868 hotline using network data, users should authorize the ImmD Mobile App to access the microphone and receive push notifications.
